Unlock Samsung Tablet From FBI Prism Virus

I have a FBI Prism Virus on my Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1. Earlier today I was sent a link and clicked on it without knowing what it was. Then it popped up that virus thing and it locked my tablet asking me to pay 300 dollars, but i did nothing wrong, i need help to remove this from my samsung tablet. It says that all my activity was recorded and all my files are encrypted. It also said something about illegal copyright laws and child porn thing. It says I have to pay a 300$ fine within 48 hours or I will have criminal charges placed on me and all my illegal activities will be sent to my contacts. It looks pretty real, it has the FBI logo and it knows my IP and city. Again, it’s telling me to buy a moneypak card, put 300 bucks on it and pay it as a release fine. Should I be scared? I’ve heard of FBI scams but this one looks different. It didn’t happen on a computer or a phone, it’s on an android tablet. I’ve never illegally sold any copyrighted items or distribute child porn so none of those reasons they gave me should really be directed at me. Do you think it’s a scam? I’d appreciate some help on what to do.

FBI Prism Virus Blocked Your Android Tablet? – How to Remove it?

FBI Prism Virus is a notorious malware that has been around for a while now. Currently this malware has made it’s way from a computer to an Android phone, even it can be landed on an Android Tablet without user’s approval. There are different types of ransomware such as DOJ virus, NSA virus, Mandiant U.S.A. Cyber Security Virus, PCeU Virus etc designed to attack users from different locations. However, all of them will prevent you from using your device normally, and they will all ask you to pay a ransom before you can use your device. Like other similar ransomware, FBI Prism Virus is famous for scaring users into believing they have been accused of watching illegal content online. Once it infects a tablet, it will either block the Internet access or lock up the whole screen using a big fake warning supposedly from FBI titled with “Attention! Your device has been blocked up for safety reasons listed below.” Subsequently, it accuses the victim of breaking copyright laws and looking at prohibited pornographic content (child porn, zoophillia). However, these claims are false. It is a scare tactic designed by cyber criminals to make you pay $300 or even more in order to release your device. Don’t spend a penny on this hoax because no one can guarantee if the infected devices can really be unblocked after the ransom is transferred and whether your information could be leaked out. FBI Prism Virus is mobile malware that should be removed manually.

How did you get this FBI Prism Virus in the first place? According to the warning, it said you did something illegally like visiting websites related to child porn and downloading illegal videos or music so FBI locked up your device. Is your tablet really blocked because of these reasons? No. Even though you haven’t done anything mentioned above, you still have chance to get infected by this virus. FBI Prism Virus pop-up is not real and it is a virus that infects a tablet/phone through many ways. Usually victims get infected with FBI Prism Virus scam through a method known as a “drive-by download” in which they simply need to visit a website like a pornography site or download the fake apps that masquerade as popular services such as Adobe Flash Player or Video Player, the virus can be installed secretly and then perform its malicious activities. It quickly locks the tablet screen and disables any functions on your device. It cuts off your Internet and will not allow you to do anything on your tablet. It threatens you that if you don’t pay the fine in 48 hours, it will send your illegal activities to your contacts and data on your device will be cleared. To make the FBI page more legal, it also shows your IP address and City, with some fake government seals, and a mashup of ripped-off images, including one of President Obama pointing an accusatory finger. Please note that FBI Prism Virus has nothing to do with FBI and other legitimate authorities so it won’t do anything as the virus pop-up said. It is a bad virus that should be deleted without any delay.

You certainly don’t want FBI Prism Virus to ruin your android phone/tablet because this malware can:

  • Lock up the entire system and forbid users to make a phone call or do anything on the phone.
  • Download other dodgy apps in the background that could erase all data in your devices including your files, documents, photos, contacts and videos.
  • Create vulnerabilities in your tablet/phone that may collect your information like your browsing history, phone IMEI, contacts information and others.

Why My Tablet Got Blocked By FBI Prism Virus?

As we all know that Android is the most popular operating system for smartphones and it , therefore it gives a big chance to the viruses developers to play their tricks and earn money from android users. They create many malicious apps target Android and distribute them all over the Internet or even get them bundled with other reliable apps to wait for users to download. Also drive-by-download sites can be another reason for android users to get FBI Prism Virus installed. Those sites contain many potentially malicious app files which can be downloaded on target devices without user’s permission. Once downloaded, FBI Prism Virus will start its malicious activities by locking the compromised device and preventing users from using the phone anymore. So conscientious app download and safe browse are always needed when you are on android device.
